4-Ethoxy-3-Anisaldehyde or 4-Ethoxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzoyl derivatives. These are organic compounds containing an acyl moiety of benzoic acid with the formula (C6H5CO-). 4-Ethoxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde is isolated from storax. 4-Ethoxy-3-anisaldehyde is a sweet, floral, and vanilla tasting compound. 4-Ethoxy-3-anisaldehyde has been detected as a volatile component in Marijuana samples obtained in police seizures (PMID:26657499).
