L-Homoserine

L-Homoserine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as l-alpha-amino acids. These are alpha amino acids which have the L-configuration of the alpha-carbon atom. L-Homoserine is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). L-Homoserine exists in all living species, ranging from bacteria to humans. Outside of the human body, L-Homoserine has been detected, but not quantified in, common pea. This could make L-homoserine a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. The L-enantiomer of homoserine. L-Homoserine is expected to be in Cannabis as all living plants are known to produce and metabolize it.
